What do I need before I buy a website?

Before purchasing a new website, the first thing you will need to do is sort out where the content for your website is coming from. That is to say, will you be providing us with copy (the text present on your website), pictures, or video. Or, on the other hand, will you be needing someone to assist with this process as well - in which case we can offer our copy writing and photography services.

In addition, you will need to have a domain picked out and preferably purchased from a domain registrar. That being said, we recommend purchasing the domain your self so that you maintain control. With that being said, we will assist in pointing your domain to the place where your website will be hosted.

Speaking about hosting, you will also need to consider if you would like to host with us or select your own hosting provider. That being said, most of our website plans include a free 1 year of hosting. But if you prefer to arrange this yourself, we also include site migration when the website goes live.

What affects the cost of my website?

Our proposals take the following into consideration when we price your website design project:

  • The complexity of your requirements
  • What types of features you will need
  • The amount of customization you require for the design
  • The number of pages on your website
  • Any edits or creation of content - Copy/Multimedia editing
  • The setup and deployment
  • If you require ongoing maintenance a recurring fee will be added

What will I need to put on my website?

This is somewhat subjective and varies between different industries and different types of websites. But, at the minimum, if you are doing a website for your business, we recommend you have the following:

  • A description of your company; explain who you are, how you got started, what you do etc.
  • A list and description of the services you offer
  • A list and description of any products you offer
  • Details of previous projects
  • Some positive testimonials from your clients
  • Your contact information
